Bringing your lift up to date not only enhances safety and compliance but also improves efficiency and reduces the risk of faults. Whether it’s a full refurbishment or smaller upgrades, we provide adapted solutions that extend the lifespan of your lift and keep it operating at its best.

    Firefighting Lift FAQs

    What is a firefighting lift?

A firefighting lift is built specifically for fire emergency use. It features fire-resistant doors, independent power, emergency controls and other safety features, so firefighters can move quickly and safely between floors during a fire.

What’s the difference between a firefighting lift and an evacuation lift?

A firefighting lift is meant solely for emergency responders and includes fire-protected components and dedicated controls. In contrast, an evacuation lift is designed for safely moving building occupants during emergencies but does not meet the specialist standard required for firefighter use (like fire walls or back up power). Read more about this in our comprehensive firefighting lift vs evacuation lift blog post.

How often should a firefighting lift be serviced?

Like all life-saving equipment, regular servicing is essential. While exact schedules can vary, we recommend routine maintenance and inspections to ensure continued safety, reliability and compliance with regulations.

Can existing lifts be upgraded to meet firefighting standards?

Yes. If a current lift isn’t compliant or has aged, it can be modernised. Our team uses refurbishment techniques, such as adding the right controls, power backup and fire protections.
