With more than 30 years of lift-industry experience across the team, Lancs & Cumbria Lifts supports planned and urgent lift requirements across the county.

Our engineers work with passenger, goods, service and platform lifts, helping building owners and facilities teams decide whether maintenance, repair, refurbishment or replacement is the appropriate next step.

Lift Maintenance, Repairs, & Installation Across Cumbria

Whether you are reviewing a maintenance contract, dealing with a lift fault or planning a replacement, the first step is to understand the equipment, building and operational requirements.

We support organisations across Cumbria with planned servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs, refurbishment and new lift projects. Work is coordinated from our Wigan operational base, with attendance agreed according to the service, postcode and engineer availability.

For an urgent fault, keep users away from the equipment and call 01942 242 413 with the site postcode, lift type and any fault information.

    CUMBRIA LIFT SUPPORT

Engineering Support Across a Large and Varied County

Cumbria’s geography, travel distances and mix of occupied buildings make practical planning important. We support facilities teams, property managers, contractors and building owners across the county from our workshop and operational base in Wigan.

Support can include routine servicing, breakdown diagnosis, repairs, condition-led refurbishment and new installation projects. Recommendations are based on the lift, its users, the building and the effect that downtime would have on the site.

For every enquiry, we confirm the available service and attendance arrangements before an appointment is made.

    Cumbria Service Coverage

    LIFT TYPES & BUILDINGS

Support Shaped Around the Equipment & Its Users

Our services cover passenger lifts, platform and access lifts, goods and service lifts, plus a range of hydraulic, traction and machine-room-less systems.

The correct maintenance, repair or upgrade recommendation depends on equipment age, usage, duty, available parts, accessibility needs and how disruption would affect the building. Cumbria sites can also introduce travel, access and delivery constraints that need to be considered before work is scheduled.

    CUMBRIA LIFT SERVICES FAQS

Questions Cumbria Customers Ask Before Getting in Touch

Do You Have An Operational Base in Cumbria?

Our workshop and operational base is in Wigan. We support sites across Cumbria, with attendance confirmed according to the service, postcode and engineer availability. We do not claim a separate Cumbria depot.

Do You Provide Emergency Lift Support Across Cumbria?

Yes. We provide 24-hour telephone support for urgent lift faults. Attendance arrangements vary according to the fault, location and engineer availability, so call 01942 242 413 to discuss the situation.

Can You Maintain a Lift Installed By Another Company?

We work across a wide range of lift systems, including equipment installed or previously maintained by other providers. We will establish the make, model, condition and parts position before confirming the appropriate support.

Which Types Of Lift Do You Service & Repair?

Our work includes passenger, goods, service, platform and access lifts, alongside hydraulic, traction and machine-room-less systems. Contact us with the equipment details if you need confirmation for a specific lift.

How Often Should a Lift Be Serviced?

The appropriate frequency depends on lift type, usage, environment, manufacturer guidance and operational risk. We can review the equipment and recommend a suitable maintenance schedule.

Can You Refurbish an Unreliable or Ageing Lift?

Yes. Depending on its condition, controls, drives, doors, safety equipment and cabin components may be upgraded. A survey helps establish whether repair, phased modernisation or replacement is the appropriate route.

Is Lift Servicing the Same as a LOLER Thorough Examination?

No. Planned maintenance keeps the lift operating and addresses wear or faults. For lifts used at work, a LOLER thorough examination is a separate statutory examination carried out by a competent person. Any resulting defects may require separate repair work.

Do You Install New Lifts in Existing Cumbria Buildings?

Yes. A site survey is used to assess space, access, structural constraints, floors served, capacity and user requirements before a suitable lift is specified.
